WorkSource Portland Metro offers a number of workshops and opportunities to help you hone your job seeking skills for today’s job market.

Workshops

Our Resume Workshop reviews essential must knows for effective resume writing.
Our Interview Workshop provides job seekers tools to prepare for a variety of interview situations.
Social Media workshop focuses on using to social media to position yourself in the job market and enhance your networking.

Job Clubs
Job Clubs are energizing workshops with networking events that provide job search tips and tools while helping job seekers stay motivated. Go to My WorkSource to sign up for Job Club and to check your Center’s schedule for focused Job Clubs such as Veteran’s Job Club and High-Tech Networking.

TALENT LINK
Every day WorkSource Portland Metro staff work with area business to list and recruit for job openings that range from entry-level to highly skilled career-track positions. They search a database of thousands of job seekers to find the right candidates. With a TALENT LINK designation, job seekers receive one-on-one coaching and job navigation support. Plus, TALENT LINK job seekers get priority consideration for in demand scholarships, training programs and jobs.

As part of our response to the COVID-19 Economic Emergency we are supporting resource and service phone lines for the general public and current customers. In partnership with multiple WorkSource and community-based service providers, the COVID Workforce Response Lines will serve as an easily accessible connection to workforce services and related resources while other access points (libraries, WorkSource Centers, etc.) are closed due to social distancing guidelines.

Two phone lines have been established: One serves residents of Multnomah County and The City of Portland. The other serves residents of Washington County.

Washington County Workforce COVID Response Line: (503) 766-5696

Hours of operation: Tues. and Thurs., 9:00-12:00 and Mon., Wed., Fri. 1:00-5:00

Languages: Spanish, English and other languages through a translation service

Available Services:

General Assistance related to workforce system services and other resources (childcare, food assistance, housing, etc.)
Unemployment Insurance Information and Support:
1. Information related to filing a claim
2. Provide updates about filing claims
3. Help explain application questions
4. Help with understanding new rule changes under COVID-19
We CANNOT fill out a claim for you, determine your eligibility, or look up a previously filed claim. We CANNOT help individuals who have already filed a claim. If you have received a letter from the State of Oregon that there is an error on your claim, your claim is on hold or has been denied, follow this link for information or contact the Unemployment Claims Center at 1-877-FILE-4-UI.
Remote TriMet Low-Income Fare Enrollment. Individuals will need to have computer/internet access or a mobile device to do eligibility by video conference.
Job Information - Many employers are currently hiring such as grocery stores, manufacturers and delivery positions. We can provide leads for openings that are updated daily.
